Man's Rejection is God's Protection!
I got great news today about a very good friend of mine. Before I tell you that news let me give you some background on the situation. My friend’s name is Travis. His mother, Angie, is my dear friend as well! Travis, throughout his life, has called me and asked me to pray for him over certain things. I have always felt very honored that he does this!
Recently, Travis went through a heart wrenching emotional trial. Travis just graduated with high honors with an engineering degree. He studied and worked VERY hard, and most of the time made a 4.0 for the semester. If I understand correctly, while you are in college pursuing an engineering degree, if you get a “co-op” position with an engineering firm, your chances of getting hired with a good job are greatly increased than if you didn’t.
Travis would call me and say, “Mrs. Juliana, I have a phone interview today. Will you please pray for me to have favor? This would look really good on my resume’.” I always did, but it was so odd, it seems Travis was passed over again and again! I could not believe it! This is a fine, Christian young man! He is very intelligent, knowledgeable in his field, and extremely well mannered! I began to wonder what on earth these employers could be looking for since I knew Travis had it all and then some (and that is NOT biased thinking!).
I began to see Travis fight discouragement and his mother was fighting it and disappointment, too. I was literally saddened for him as though he were my son facing overwhelming obstacles! Time and again, Travis would be rejected, but he continued to try to get into a “co-op” position.
One day the Lord led me into a special time of praying for just Travis. I began to ask God what was going on here. I waited to to hear His voice, thinking if we had a reason it could be corrected! God began to remind me of my husband. My husband has an engineering degree from a primo university. I do not mean this as a brag by any means!! I tell you this to make a point. My husband had a “co-op” job in college with an engineering firm. It postponed him graduating for a full year! After my husband graduated the oil business didn’t boom it FLUBBED!! The type of engineering degree my husband had just gotten was obsolete and useless! There were not jobs for it and none to be seen in the future! My husband and I were still blessed of the Lord. He got a job with the Federal Government and has been with them for almost thirty years and loves it. In other words, my husband’s “co-op” job only delayed his graduating and it did NOTHING for him. He never used that degree. The Lord prompted me to call Angie and tell her this. I could tell she didn’t really like hearing this and didn’t fully understand what I was saying, BUT God said tell her and I did.
Today I received a text from Angie. Travis just graduated and he just got hired at a wonderful company, with great hours and at a wonderful salary!! Praise God for man’s rejection. In the rejection of the co-op jobs, Travis was in the right place at the right time when opportunity came knocking! Had he gotten those jobs, he would still be in school and this chance would be passing him by! Man’s rejection was God’s PROTECTION for Travis! Things we had no way of knowing before became crystal clear! Just as we knew, God had a plan the whole time and it was better than what we had imagined!!
My friend, God is no respecter of persons the Bible says. Maybe you have been passed over time and again! Maybe you were more qualified for a job than someone else, but they got it anyway. Maybe you were next in line for that big promotion and the very one you trained stepped in and took it! Do not be disheartened!! Man’s rejection is God’s protection! There IS something better on its way for you. Don’t give up! More than anything, keep your faith in God! You will look back one day and say, “God, I could not have planned it any better myself…You have surpassed my dreams!!”
Thank you for dropping by, dear reader! Blessings to you today and everyday! I will see you soon! Oh, and by the way, CONGRATULATIONS, TRAVIS!!!!! As always, I am so PROUD OF YOU!!!
