My sister Mary and me with honey my nephew salvaged from his
beehive.
My God-nephews field.
The peas he planted are already coming in.
Brian and me after the crawfish boil.
Chalkie and Woody (God-dogs) are ready for
leftovers!
Texas wildflowers at Brian and Jen's place....gorgeous!
Today my adopted sister, Mary (we adopted each other) came to my house to take me riding on her new "toy"! She had a 3 wheeled motorcyle and was thrilled. She looked adorable on it and by a miracle of God she got me on it! I did my "praying through" right then and there!! My father used to work in X-Ray and has seen many accidents on motorbikes of all sorts and has literally put the fear of God into me about them and I am fifty years old! To this day I obey him! Hopefully he won't read this one since I let her talk me into riding it and DISOBEYED him in this! After we had talked for a bit she decided to leave and couldn't get it to start. There was nothing wrong with it just she nor I could figure out how to get it going again! She called my God-nephew, Brian and not long after he showed up with the owner of the company that sells the motorcycles. The next thing I know it is started and he says, "Come on over to the house, I have boiled crawfish!" How could we resist?? As y'all know from my profile I am from Texas and it is the best place in the world to live! We are known for our friendliness , great barbeque, catfish and crawfish, and wildflowers like you have never seen!! My God-nephew and actually my sister's whole family are the neatest people you would ever want to meet! They are very down to earth and life is simple. It is about loving God first, family (and I thank God they include my family and me in that catagory) second, and always being a help to anyone who needs it! They remind me so much of my grandparents with whom I have so many incredible memories. Brian, like my grandfather did, loves to fish and hunt! He actually harvests his own honey from local honeybees. He plants his own garden and he is FUN just like my grandfather always was. His manner is slow and easy going and makes you feel like you are his best friend in the world in the process. I swear he should run for some type of office! He is brilliant! He collects artifacts and can tell you how old they are and where he found them. He is well read and very self-educated in things you never think about, but things that take you far back in time to a simpler and happier lifestyle! My sister is a wonderful mother and Brian is just one of three boys. They are all wonderful men! My (adopted) brother-in-law, Eddie is no different! As I looked out at Brian and Jen's (his wife) "spread" as we call it in Texas, I thought of when I was a little girl. I saw my grandfather weeding the garden. I saw my grandmother with the most delicious meal set before you, you could possibly ever think of eating! I saw life as it was when there were no worries, all was right with the world, and all was peaceful! I didn't know I was going to Brian's today or going for a motorcyle ride with Mary. That was God's handful of unexpected and a "suddenly" blessing dropped to me on purpose just like in the book of Ruth! The Bible says, "The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it, neither does toiling increase it!" I AM RICH! I have a sister who loves me and always thinks of me! I not only have one family that is the greatest, but God gave me TWO!!! I loved this wonderful day. You can tell I didn't expect it because in the pictures I have on no make-up and my hair is "finger" combed! I needed this happy day and God richly blessed me with it! I hope you enjoyed going back in time with me! Maybe we will get to do it again very soon!
